Jeroen Langeveld MSc PhD successfully defended his PhD thesis ‘Interactions within wastewater systems’ in 2004. At Royal HaskoningDHV (2004-2014), he had held several positions, from Consultant Wastewater Systems to Leading Professional Urban Water. The main drive in his carrier is to further develop and apply knowledge in the field of Urban Water, with urban drainage being the focal point for activities such as optimization studies, monitoring and modelling and (applied) research.

Since September 2010, he has held the part time positions of Associate professor Urban Drainage and director of the Urban Drainage Research program. With this program, he managed to revitalise the Urban Drainage chair at TU Delft, now being one of the leading Urban Drainage Research groups in the scientific community. The research program covers four themes: asset management, operational management, system dynamics and new sanitation concepts.

Key qualifications of Jeroen are his capabilities to cross interdisciplinary boundaries, and to establish fruitful cooperation (networks) with clients, researchers and (competing) consultants. This allows him to constantly further develop his expertise on the topic of Urban Water.
